INDUSTRIAL HYDRAULIC OILS

AGIP ACER

AGIP ACER oils are high quality oils for use in circulation systems and in hydraulics circuits.
They are obtained from selected paraffinic base stocks treated with antioxidant and antirust
additives (R & O oils, ISO-L-DAB, ISO-L-HL classifications). They are available in many
grades that cover a very broad range of viscosity and are therefore able to meet all
requirements of practical interest.

PROPERTIES AND PERFORMANCES
􀂃 AGIP ACER oils have a high viscosity index which minimizes changes in viscosity and
hence in the load bearing capacity of the lubricant film over a wide range of operating
temperatures.
􀂃 Their outstanding antifoam properties and capacity to release entrained air rapidly ensure
excellent incompressibility. This property, which is required by hydraulic fluids, prevents
any pumping and circulation troubles, and reduces the rate of thermal and oxidation
alteration.
􀂃 All grades have good anti-rust properties and oxidation stability and also aging
resistance.
􀂃 All grades posses good water-separability ability and so do not form stable emulsions,
with consequent loss of lubricating power.

Description

  • The oils are designed for energy transmission in plants requiring the use of a hydraulic fluid. The oils also provide adequate lubrication by creating a strong lubricant film that withstands high loads between the sliding parts of high-pressure hydraulic systems.
  • AGIP OSO oils have very good anti-wear properties, as illustrated by typical test results :
  1. Vane and ring wear in the Vickers test around 35 mg
  2. The higher grades (OSO 46-150) passes the 12th stage of the FZG test, while the lower grades passes 11th stage.
  • They have extremely good oxidation resistance and stability even when subjected to unusually high thermal stresses, this property minimizes sludge and deposit formation, thus preventing blocking of ports, valves, and controls, while guaranteeing that the oil remains properly fluid.
  • Maintenance costs are therefore reduced and the useful service life of the oil is extended.
  • The high Viscosity index of all grades minimizes changes in viscosity throughout the normal range of operating temperatures, thus ensuring constant flow, low friction loss, and good hydraulic efficiency, while protecting against the possibility of cavitation.
  • Their outstanding anticorrosion  and antirust properties inhibit the oxidation of internal surfaces of hydraulic circuits and therefore prevent operating difficulties and breakdown of the oil caused by metallic oxides that would otherwise form within the machinery.
  • Their good demulsibility prevents the formation of a stable emulsion between the oil and any water that enters the system through leakage or condensation. The fluids therefore maintain their lubricating power and anticorrosion performance even under these circumstances.
  • Their antifoam properties and their ready release of entrained air prevent difficulties with pumps  and controls which can cause irregularities in performance and other problems arising from the compressibility of air bubbles.
  • They show a very high filterability,  they are suitable for very fine filters (3 micron up to ISO VG 68)

AGIP BLASIA

The AGIP BLASIA series has been developed to meet the widest range of requirements of
EP (Extreme Pressure) lubrication such as, for instance gears, operating under severe duty
(ISO-L-CKD classification).
The oils are formulated from paraffinic base stocks and additives such as sulphur

Description
AGIP CLADIUM S 300 is specifically designed to be used on static diesel and marine diesel engines using diesel oil or marine fuel oil with sulphur content less than 3.5 % wt and formulated to achieve optimum engine life.

AGIP CLADIUM S 300 meets requirements of the API CD specification.
§  Fincantieri - Divisione Grandi Motori
§  MAN - B & W.
§  Mirrlees Blackstone
§  New Sulzer Diesel
§  Wärtsilä

AGIP CLADIUM S is a series of marine engine oils of the latest generation intended for use in those modern four-stroke diesel engines operating with high-sulphur fuels which require lubricants of higher performances, namely with "anti black sludge" properties. This lubricant provides also better deposit control in the hottest parts of the engine, namely in the piston cooling gallery. These properties are mandatory also because the modern engines show low oil consumption figures. This decreases the renewal of the oil charge by to pups, and leads to higher stress applied to the oil. The line comprises five products: CLADIUM 300 S and 400 S (offered in two viscosity grades), CLADIUM 500 S (SAE 40), with different TBN values. AGIP CLADIUM 500 S is recommended in case of use of fuel with particularly high sulphur and/ or of engines showing extremely low oil consumption.

PROPERTIES AND PERFORMANCE
 AGIP CLADIUM S have detergent-dispersant properties which effectively prevent the formation of lacquers, sludge and deposits, thus keeping rings free and pistons clean.
 They have enough alkalinity reserve to efficiently combat the formation of acid mists resulting from the use of very-high sulphur fuel oils. This reserve is also particularly useful in engines exhibiting especially low oil consumption or operating at such low liner temperatures as to favour sulphuric acid condensation.
 Their antiwear properties make this product also suitable to lubricate main engine reduction gear units.
 Their antifoam properties prevent the formation and entrainment of air bubbles.
 Their balanced dispersancy ensures a perfectly clean engine without hindering purification by centrifuging.
 Their high polarity provides superior protection of engine parts from attack by moisture and salinity.
SPECIFICATIONS AGIP CLADIUM S meet the requirements of API CF service specification and have been approved by the following manufacturers

AGIP CLADIUM 400 is an API CD (series III) engine oil intended for use in four-stroke diesel
engines operating with high-sulphur fuels, thus requiring a specially high TBN, and in
particular running conditions. It is specifically recommended for application in four-stroke
diesel engines operating on poor quality, high sulphur, residual fuels or frequently
experiencing low temperatures in the piston-liner area.
AGIP CLADIUM 400 is also recommended for those applications where a single product is
preferred to lubricate both engines operating on fuel oil and those running on diesel fuel.

PROPERTIES AND PERFORMANCES
􀂃 AGIP CLADIUM 400 has detergent-dispersant properties that effectively prevent the
formation of lacquers, sludge, and deposits, thus keeping rings free and pistons clean.
􀂃 It has enough alkalinity reserve to efficiently combat the formation of acid mists resulting
from the use of very-high sulphur fuel oils. This reserve is also particularly useful in
engines exhibiting especially low oil consumption or operating at such low liner
temperatures as to favour sulphuric acid condensation.
􀂃 Its anti-wear properties make this product also suitable to lubricate main engine
reduction gear units.
􀂃 Its antifoam properties prevent the formation and entrainment of air bubbles.
􀂃 Its balanced dispersancy ensures a perfectly clean engine without hindering purification
by centrifuging.
􀂃 Its high polarity provides superior protection of engine parts from attack by moisture and
salinity.

Description

  • AGIP CLADIUM 200 has excellent detergent  properties, which effectively prevent formation of lacquer, and carbon deposits on piston lands and grooves, thus keeping the rings free even in the most highly-rated engines.
  • Its anti-corrosion properties provide efficient, long-term protection of liners.
  • Its TBN retention properties remain high even after extended use, thus ensuring effective neutralization of acidic products.
  • Its very good anti-wear properties ensure the life of all sliding parts.
  • Its antifoam properties prevent breakdown  of the oil film, thus ensuring superior hydrodynamic lubrication of moving parts.
  • Despite its high detergent-dispersant efficiency, the demulsibility characteristics allow rapid separation of water accidentally entering the engine.
